Police Athletic League

The Cocoa Police Athletic League (PAL) is one of the beneficiaries of the Cocoa Community First organization.  The PAL program is meant to promote positive relationships between law enforcement and local youth.  The programs are designed to build self esteem among youth through participation in team athletics, educational programs focused on helping male positive life choices and creating relationships with positive role models.

Cops and Kids Summer Camp

Each summer, officers with the Community Resource Unit of the Cocoa Police Department are dedicated to working with local children in a unique summer camp program.  The officers and the children spend the summer weeks touring area attractions, learning new skills and enjoying positive interactions that keep them busy and help develop productive life skills.

Shop with a Cop

Through community partnerships such as Walmart and the Brevard School District, this annual event is a favorite among police officers and department employees.  More than twenty children are selected by the school district to participate in a one of a kind Christmas shopping spree.  Each child is paired with a police officer and together they shop for whatever is on the child's wish list up to $125.  The police department and its partners go all out to make it an unforgettable VIP event.

Holiday Toy Drive

Each year, the Cocoa Police Department partners with the community to collect toys for hundreds of children suring the Christmas holiday.  Without the donations and support of local residents and businesses, these children would not have gifts to open on Christmas morning.  On average, the department helps more than 500 children through the Cocoa Community First non-profit and its thrift shop.
